The policy #
Ride maintains zero tolerance for the use of drugs or alcohol by a driver while the driver is logged into the Ride driver platform or providing a prearranged ride. Drivers may not be impaired by any substance — including prescription or over-the-counter medication that impairs driving — while online or on a trip.
If you are in danger now #
If anyone is in immediate danger or needs urgent medical, police, or fire assistance, call 911 first. Ride's forms and support channels are not an emergency service.
If you believe your driver is impaired, ask the driver to end the trip and exit the vehicle at the first safe opportunity, then call 911 if there is any immediate danger.
How to report a suspected violation (non-emergency) #
- In the app: use the trip's safety/report tools, which attach the trip automatically.
- On the web: ridebylamar.com/safety/report — choose "Suspected impairment."
- By email or phone: support@ridebylamar.com / (561) 542-7560.
- Identify the trip: the date, approximate time, and pickup or destination help us find it; if you have the trip ID from your receipt, include it.
What happens after a report #
- Qualifying complaints alleging driver impairment are escalated for immediate safety review.
- The driver is suspended from accepting ride requests as soon as possible after Ride receives a qualifying zero-tolerance complaint.
- The suspension lasts for the duration of the investigation.
- Ride investigates — reviewing the report, trip records, and accounts from both sides — and both parties are expected to cooperate.
- Outcomes range from clearing the driver to permanent deactivation. The driver may appeal under the Account Suspension, Deactivation, and Appeal Policy.
Honest reporting, no retaliation #
False or malicious reports are a serious violation of the Community Guidelines. Good-faith reporters are protected: retaliation against anyone for reporting or cooperating with an investigation is prohibited.
Public notice #
This policy and its reporting channels serve as Ride's public zero-tolerance notice for its initial operating state of Florida. Ride does not claim around-the-clock staffing; reports are handled as promptly as the safety team's operating hours allow, and emergency situations should always go to 911 first.
