How to delete your account #
In the app: Settings → Danger Zone → Delete account. You will confirm your identity and the deletion before it runs.
On the web (no app needed): go to ridebylamar.com/account/delete and submit a deletion request. If an eligible account is associated with the information provided, Ride will send verification instructions to the account's contact method. For security, the web form's response does not reveal whether an account exists.
Other privacy requests #
Use ridebylamar.com/privacy/request to ask for: a copy of your information (access), correction of inaccurate information, a privacy question, communication-preference changes, an applicable opt-out, or an appeal of a previous privacy-request decision. Ride verifies identity before releasing or changing personal information.
What deletion affects #
- Your profile, names, photo, and contact details are deleted.
- Your sign-in is disabled and your authentication account is deleted; sessions and refresh tokens are revoked.
- Saved places, preferences, push tokens, and device registrations are deleted.
- Payment methods are detached at our payment processor and their references deleted.
- Driver documents and vehicle records tied to your account are removed from active systems, subject to the regulatory retention below.
- Any trip in progress must end (or be cancelled) before deletion completes.
What may be retained, and why #
Where full deletion is not permitted, Ride restricts access to the retained records, removes unnecessary profile attributes, and keeps the minimum necessary. Ride is finalizing period-level retention detail with counsel and will publish it when verified.
- Completed-trip records — transportation-network-company record-keeping obligations, dispute resolution, and safety.
- Payment, refund, payout, and tax records — financial, tax, and processor audit obligations.
- Safety reports and incident records — investigations and regulatory retention.
- Fraud-prevention records — preventing abuse and repeat fraud.
- Records subject to a legal hold or an active investigation.
- Deidentified records that no longer identify you, where lawful.
What can delay completion #
- An active trip or a trip that has not finished settling.
- Unresolved charges, refunds, or chargebacks.
- Pending driver payouts.
- An open safety investigation involving your account.
- A legal hold or a legal obligation to preserve specific records.
After deletion #
You will not be able to sign in to the deleted account. Retained records are not accessible through any app profile. If you return to Ride later, you will create a new account; Ride does not restore deleted accounts unless policy expressly allows it in a specific case.
