Status #
This is a pre-launch policy and is not yet effective. Questions about how platform weapons rules interact with state firearms law — including lawful-carry rights in Florida — must be resolved before this policy can take effect. Until an effective version is published, the Community Guidelines' prohibition on unlawful items and threatening conduct governs.
Principles under review #
- Unlawful possession or carrying of any weapon during a trip is prohibited in all cases.
- Brandishing, displaying, or referencing a weapon to intimidate anyone is prohibited in all cases and is treated as a threat under the Community Guidelines.
- The treatment of lawfully carried firearms by riders and drivers during trips is still being determined and is not settled by this pre-launch policy.
Reporting #
If anyone is in immediate danger or needs urgent medical, police, or fire assistance, call 911 first. Ride's forms and support channels are not an emergency service.
Report weapons-related conduct through the safety reporting channels: ridebylamar.com/safety/report or support@ridebylamar.com.
