The rule #
Ride prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex (including pregnancy), sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, marital or familial status where protected, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.
What this means for drivers #
- Do not refuse, cancel, or cut short a trip because of a rider's protected characteristic.
- Do not refuse a trip because of the rider's pickup location, destination, or neighborhood when the refusal is a proxy for a protected characteristic.
- Accommodate service animals — no documentation demands and no extra fee. See the Service Animal Policy.
- Accommodate foldable wheelchairs and mobility devices that can be safely stored. See the Wheelchair and Mobility Device Policy.
- Do not impose different treatment, routes, or conduct standards based on protected characteristics.
What this means for riders #
- Do not refuse, cancel, harass, or rate a driver because of the driver's protected characteristics.
- Discriminatory conduct or language toward drivers or other passengers violates this policy.
No disability surcharges #
Ride does not charge more because a rider has a disability, uses a service animal, or travels with a mobility device — and drivers may not demand extra payment for these reasons.
Reporting and enforcement #

Reports are investigated, and substantiated discrimination can lead to permanent deactivation. Ratings and cancellations are also monitored for discriminatory patterns.
